Conventional camping is the backbone of what we do at Camp Wight! We welcome people bringing their own tents, hammocks, campervans and caravans.

From the most lightweight hammock to be rigged between trees, to large coachbuilt RVs, we have enough space for all types of camper!

We have chosen not to provide electric hook-ups. Instead we provide USB charging for devices and the most beautiful dark starry skies to watch at night.

We love Dark Skies at Camp Wight

We welcome campfires, in firepits, to keep the fire safely off the ground, in all but the most extreme drought conditions. We provide firepits to rent, which are made from recycled washing machine drums, with a heavy steel base, to keep them stable and upright at all times.

Our site is large and low-density, for the best possible camping experience. Most of our pitches are separated from others, so it’s often possible to think you’re the only people on the site.

We have also chosen not to provide chemical toilet disposal points. In keeping with our eco-credentials, we encourage our campers to use the composting toilets located around the site. We recycle the waste, as fertiliser on nearby fields, where the crops are grown for a bio-digester.

Our composting toilets and straw bale urinal. Both sheds have solar-powered lighting and this is where we provide device charging, too.
